One, two or all three of us did the following this weekend:
Built a fence (and demolished the old one) ~ bought and installed a dog door ~ Cleaned out the garage ~ Visited TWO libraries ~ Watched "The Absentminded Professor" and "Where the Red Fern Grows" ~ Ran 10 Miles (straight) ~ Bought groceries ~ Watched Alabama beat LSU ~ Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs (I also had baked beans and potato salad, but the boys didn't) ~ 5 loads of laundry ~ Read magazines ~ Relaxed on the couch ~ Went for a walk on the Provo Trail ~ Helped a neighbor fix his car ~ Had suckers and caramel at Sundance ~ Raked up all the leaves in the front yard ~
No photos...just wonderful memories.

I am Thankful 11/01/2009
Today I am thankful that Halloween is over! I know I should start off with "family", "friends" or "my son" or "my husband", but truly, today I feel most thankful that Halloween is over.
I have described my feelings about Halloween in the past (even recently) as "indifference" rather than "dislike", but I think it is time that I own up to the fact that I really do dislike Halloween. Adding to the "indifference" is the fact that Carson really doesn't care all that much about Halloween. Where the kids really like to show off is at school and at church, and they can't wear masks or face paint to either of those places. Not that I don't get the reasoning, and I also support it, but it makes it hard to have a really awesome costume!
Also adding to the "indifference" is that Carson is getting much older. Sure, it was fun when he was 1, 2, 3 even 4 and 5 to dress him up all cute and take him around to see family members. So, next year, we are trying something different. Our friends, the Orchards, that live in Bountiful, have a Halloween party each year. We're going to go to that party and see if we can get in the spirit a little more. Here's to Halloween '10!

A beautiful, warm Fall day. It has been very relaxing, just like a Saturday should be. The day started with a 7 mile run with my friends Crystal and Lynnel. Crystal and I are still training to run the 1/2 Marathon in Mesquite on November 21. I can't belive I ran 7 miles today! We've been running on the Provo River Trail down on "our" end, starting at the trail head by Utah Lake. It is a BEAUTIFUL trail and the Fall season only enhances it's beauty.
Today's run was really great. It's the first time I have attempted to take a water bottle (which didn't work) and also the first time I have tried Hammer Gel (or any type of energy gel). I think they are both a good idea if I am going to do longer than 6 miles, as I felt much better on my run today than last week when I didn't take water or gel.
After coming home, we did the usual chores, goofing around, being loud that we do. I love my family. We aren't perfect, far from it, but we love each other and enjoy being together. I love that Carson is old enough now to really get humor but is still young enough to not expect that I am going to try and scare him if he scares me first!
Carson went to Jessica Thurman's birthday party and Chad and I went a little wild and went to....Wal-Mart! Gotta have groceries!
Chad was nice enough to fix the flat tires on both my bike and Carsons and we went for a nice bike ride on the Provo River Trail. I had ditched my water bottle within the first 1/2 mile of the run today and couldn't find it on the way back, so we went to get it. Don't want to be a litterbug! Carson found it and picked it up for me!
