Benjamin and Alex Myles-Mills came over to play today. Carson, Ben and Alex have been friends since they went to R-Kids pre-school/daycare together. Although Ben and Alex go to a different school than Carson, they have gone to the summer school program at Franklin Elementary the last two years, so they have remained friends. It was so much fun to have them over. They swam, ate otter pops, played inside, climbed into the treehouse and played with Chevy.

At the last minute, we got together with our neighbors and friends, the Thurmans. They had been planning on getting together with family, but decided not to because their daughter Alyssa wasn't feeling very well. So, we got together and did all of our fireworks together. It was really fun and the kids all had a great time. The best part was the illegal things Chad and David were doing to the fireworks to make a better show for us! The kids liked the sparklers, pop-its and smoke bombs.

Provo Freedom Festival - Provo has an annual festival called the Freedom Festival. There are lots of events associated with that. We like to go to the booths and rides that they set up downtown. There are lots of local vendors that set up booths to sell their stuff, which is fun to browse through. Carson likes to ride the festival rides. We had a good time walking around and spending time together. It wasn't as hot as it usually is, which was nice.

Chad and I got new bikes on July 3, 2009. We both had sold our bikes since moving to Provo and it was time to get new ones. Carson has his Redline BMX bike that he really enjoys riding and we wanted to be able to go riding as a family. So, we were both off on the 3rd and we paid a visit to Taylor's Bike Shop in Provo. Chad has been looking at this bike for months. It's called a Giant STP. It's a single speed bike, basically a BMX bike for adults. I had been wanting a cruiser and after looking at every Wal-Mart, Target and K-Mart on the Wasatch Front, decided to bite the bullet and just spend a little extra money for a nice bike. Chad had been encouraging me in that direction anyway so he was pleased when I made that decision. I got a Giant Simple Seven. It has seven gears and it definitely is simple. I love it. It is so comfortable to ride!
